Knitted Bible

We were kindly invited to visit Uppermill Methodist Church to enjoy their knitted Bible exhibition. We enjoyed sharing stories from the Bible and appreciated the time and skill required to create such a beautiful exhibition of knitted art.

We have found the Gruffalo!

We have visited Strinesdale reservoir to develop our problem solving skills. The children worked brilliantly together to build shelters and to draw pictures of the Gruffalo using only natural materials. The light rain didn't dampen our spirits!

European Week

We have been learning about Russia as part European Week.

We explored the work of Russian composer Tchaikovsky and enjoyed watching the Russian Ballet. We sampled Russian food and designed our own version of St Basil's Catherdral. We painted Faberge eggs and made our own Russian dolls. We are now experts in Russian geography and culture!

Science - Ice Trolls

In science, we have been experimenting with materials to see which was the most effective in stopping our ice trolls from melting! Which material do you think was most effective?

Sighting of the Jabberwocky!

It has been reported that there have been sightings of the Jabberwocky in St Chad's forest. We have been gathering evidence and shall be writing newspaper reports, with eye witness accounts, very soon. Watch this space!

Balance and bend!

In PE we have been developing our core strength and balancing skills. The children were extremely creative in the ways in which they travelled and balanced on the apparatus.
